  • What sets Simpura apart from other weight loss programs?

     

    Unlike most weight loss programs, where you occasionally see a physician, or may never see one at all, at Simpura, you will have weekly, one-on-one visits with a physician, to help ensure you have the education, support and guidance you need to lose the weight, and keep it off.

     

    Our physician-designed weight loss program provides you with the tools you need to reach your goals quickly, and safely.

     

    Dr. Denning brings her years of experience in weight loss, wellness, and prevention, as well as her background in psychology, to design a nutritional plan that's effective at burning fat, while also maintaining muscle mass. Maintaining a mild state of ketosis also helps curb your hunger and eliminate carbohydrate cravings.

     

    How does the program work?

     

    Simpura's weight loss program is a partial meal-replacement, mildly ketogenic plan, that includes everything you need for success!

     

    Program visits are conducted via telemedicine video chat. This allows you to take advantage of our program from the safety, comfort, and convenience of your own home. It's projected that telemedicine will continue to gain in popularity, but we may also offer in-person visits in the future.

     

    Our program requires scheduled weekly visits. We've found this to be essential to the success of our patients. It is because of this ongoing, personal interaction that you're able to not only receive education and counseling, but the support and encouragement you need to progressively lose weight. Weekly accountability will also help keep you on track to meet your goals.

     

    During your initial visit, Dr. Denning will do a thorough assessment of your medical history, as well as your food and weight history, and create a plan based upon your needs. Thereafter, you will have weekly visits until you reach your goal weight. At that time, we will then begin adding some of the foods that had been limited back into your diet.

     

    We also offer a monthly maintenance program for ongoing support and accountability, to help keep you on track. Keeping weight off can always be a challenge, and we're here to help make sure you're successful.

     

    How much weight can I expect to lose?

     

    Our patients typically lose 5-10 pounds in the first week. In the weeks following, we see an average weight loss of 1-3 pounds per week.

     

    How long will it take for me to lose my weight?

     

    This depends on a number of factors, including how diligently you follow the program, how much weight you have to lose, whether you’re male or female (males typically lose faster, sorry ladies!), and factors such as metabolism and genetics.

     

    On average, we see weight loss of 10+ lbs. per month.

     

    Will I regain my weight if I lose it quickly?

     

    No. You will lose your weight in a steady, safe manner, and along the way, you will develop healthy eating habits that you will carry with you.

     

    We are setting you up for a lifetime of success by providing you with the education you need to continue your healthy eating habits, and create a new, healthy lifestyle. We want you to look at it as a new and improved way of living!

     

    How much does the program cost?

     

    We offer a free 15-minute preliminary consult to answer you questions and explain our program.

     

    Upon joining the program, our initial consult fee is $289.00. Thereafter, the weekly visit fee is $89.00, which includes the patient consult and counseling, the 3 boxes of food products needed for the week, and the multi-vitamin and multi-mineral Dr. Denning recommends.

     

    We also offer multi-week packages which provide not only cost savings, but motivation and determination to stay on track and meet your goals. Please contact us for more information.

     

    Are there any discounts?

     

    We occasionally run specials, so please inquire at the time of contact.

     

    We have a refer-a-friend discount, and if your friend joins the program, you will each receive a $25 voucher.

     

    We also offer a 10% discount to all military, first responders (police officers, fire fighters, EMT’s), and teachers, with valid ID at time of sign-up.

     

    Do you accept insurance?

     

    Due to insurance limitations, we do not accept any insurance. We take credit cards, debit, cash, or check, and we will also be offering Care Credit for those who are interested.

     

    Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

     

    Unfortunately, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid patients at this time. Due to contract limitations, we are unable to see these patients, even if they would like to pay cash for the program rather than use their insurance.

     

    What is ketosis?

     

    Ketosis is a state that your body enters once the simple carbohydrates have been removed from your diet, and you consume more relatively more proteins. This allows your body to begin burning fat, which will in turn, help you lose weight.

     

    Our program is designed to keep your body in a mild form of ketosis throughout the program, which is why it’s important to follow the plan closely. This is the best way to ensure success.

     

    Do I need to exercise?

     

    Exercise should not be done during the first week of the program, as your body is adjusting to a new way of eating and consuming fewer calories. Thereafter, exercise is not required, but moderate, non-strenuous exercise is encouraged.

     

    Do I need to take any medications?

     

    With the goal of keeping things simple and pure, and a safe as possible, Dr. Denning has worked to develop a program that requires no medications, and allows you to still lose weight just as quickly and effectively as when medications are used.

     

    Do I need to take any supplements?

     

    In order to maintain proper nutrition, Dr. Denning requires a multi-vitamin and a multi-mineral, which are included in the cost of your weekly visit.

     

    These provide a balance of nutrients, which is important for balancing your body’s needs. While you will be eating healthy foods on the program, there are short-term limitations with what can be eaten, so it's important to supplement.

     

    Is the diet safe for everyone?

     

    While the program offers many health benefits, we do not recommend the program in certain situations and conditions. These restrictions include:

    • Poorly controlled heart failure
    • Recent heart attack, stroke or mini-stroke
    • A malignancy currently undergoing treatment
    • Kidney or liver disease
    • Uncontrolled eating disorders
    • Pregnant or nursing
    • Other possible conditions, as determined by the doctor
